AI and Micro-Media: Innovative Opportunities to Promote the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Teachings
During the 3rd International Conference of “AhlulBayt (a.s.) Media Narrators” in Qom, Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, head of Iran’s National Center for Cyberspace, emphasized the need to equip cultural activists with artificial intelligence tools and harness the power of micro-media to globally disseminate the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), highlighting the profound transformations in communication and content production.
The third International Conference of “AhlulBayt (a.s.) Media Narrators” commenced Thursday morning, May 1, 2025, in Qom, coinciding with the Ten Days of Dignity (from the first day of Dhu al-Qadah marked as Lady Masoumeh’s (a.s.) birth anniversary, to Dhu al-Qadah 11, coinciding with Imam Reza’s (a.s.) birth anniversary). The event was held at the conference hall of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, with the participation of media professionals and intellectuals from Iran and several African countries. It has been organized by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) International News Agency (ABNA).
Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Aghamiri, member of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace and head of Iran’s National Center for Cyberspace, in his remarks at the conference, referred to significant developments in the field of media and cultural management over the past five years.
“In the past, language was a serious barrier to content transmission, but today, with modern tools, content is translated and republished into different languages within fractions of a second.” He added, “This transformation is an opportunity to spread the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) to the farthest corners of the world, but it also poses a threat through content that contradicts our values.”
Pointing to the role of social media platforms and micro-media, he added, “Today, the influence of small-scale media outlets exceeds that of official media, and we must utilize these platforms to produce widespread, engaging, and high-quality content. Artificial Intelligence, by reducing costs and increasing production speed, has also become a powerful tool for conveying value-based messages.”
Aghamiri emphasized, “Swift and intelligent access to these technologies can give us a competitive advantage in the media landscape. If we do not act today, this opportunity will soon become available to all, and our advantage will be lost.”
At the end of the conference, the new multilingual version of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) International News Agency (ABNA) website was unveiled in the presence of Dr. Aghamiri and Ayatollah Reza Ramezani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
